Hi my name is Sarah and I'm a "Spam Expert" ... you may wonder why I contacted you, well, most of the time I notice that you have made the SAME mistake I made. Be mad or angry...whatever, but I am going to tell you how to solve your problems and how I did it too.
I was just hoping to sell a few items from some cleaning in my garage.I listed an ad on Craigslist and decided to add my personal email for people to contact me... within 24 hours I was flooded with fake replies and scams, then, like a tidal wave I began to get as many as 150 spams per day!
What I Did To Solve My Problem!
I was determined to take my email address back and somehow stop these spammers! I began by researching spam reporting agencies and when I had a list I began submitting email headers. It only took about 8 hours to realize the problem was TOO MASSIVE for me to handle by reporting single spams one at a time!.By now, the spam was coming in at 20 per hour and growing, I was swamped. I needed a Craigslist Spam Filter fast.
I persisted in my research
I decided my personal email( that all of my family and friends knew by heart) was worth more effort, so after a few days of desperation I decided I would find out how and who these spammers were from the inside. I became a spam detective.
I started by googleing everything to do with emails and craigslist which lead me to about a dozen forums and guess what I found?
THOUSANDS of people are using specialized software to "scrape" Craigslist and "harvest" our emails!
I decided to learn more, so I acted like a newbie and asked for help on how to "Cash In" on Craigslist emails.
What I was taught was alarming and downright wrong. These emails (mine included) are loaded into "Offshore" mailing servers located in China and other countries then they spew out 100's of thousands of these emails everyday using a numbers game - send out 100,000 and there will be a percetage of niave people that WILL visit a website or fall for a scam, resulting in 1000's of dollars in the spammers pockets.
I quickly realized that my email was never going to be able to be "removed" from all of these thousands of illegal servers
What would I do? How can I fight 1000's of unknown spammers? Is there a Craigslist Spam filter or spamblocker that could help me?
Luckily in my research I came across the easiest and most simple solution. It is really the ONLY solution.
